LAUNCH OF OCC AWARD 2018 (THAILAND)

12th October 2017

LAUNCH OF MAJOR AWARD TO RECOGNISE FUTURE LEADERS OF THAI HOSPITALITY, FOOD AND BEVERAGE SECTORS

The Oxford Cultural Collective Award, to be launched in Bangkok on 16th November 2017, will recognise rising stars of the hospitality, food and beverage sectors across Thailand.

Open to those under the age of 30, this prestigious award will celebrate the talents of the sector’s future leaders, whose professionalism and flair are respected by their employers and peers.  It will promote challenging and rewarding careers and will reinforce the importance of training and education for those who want to achieve professional success.

Nominations will open on 17th November 2017 and must be submitted no later than Friday 25th May 2018. Companies are invited to nominate their most talented young employees – those who are having a positive impact on their business and who are displaying clear leadership potential. A dedicated nominations page on the Oxford Cultural Collective website will become available on 17th November 2017. This will include details of nomination criteria.

Donald Sloan, Chair of the Oxford Cultural Collective commented: “Thailand is recognised worldwide as a leading destination for leisure and business tourism. It is renowned for its beauty, the warmth and professionalism of its hospitality and the distinctiveness of its cuisine. Through the Oxford Cultural Collective Award we are seeking to celebrate the talents and contributions of those who are shaping Thailand’s reputation for outstanding hospitality. In particular, we want to find those who have the potential to occupy leadership positions in the future. Establishing this award also reflects our intention that the Oxford Cultural Collective should have a truly international reach.”

Ten short-listed candidates will be invited to an assessment day in Bangkok on 12th July 2018. The ultimate winner of the Oxford Cultural Collective Award 2018, to be chosen by a distinguished panel of judges, will be announced on the evening of the judging day at a reception for industry leaders and press. The winning candidate will receive an all-expenses paid overseas field-trip, tailored to reflect their interests and aspirations.
