OCC 2023 – Supporting Partners
Throughout 2023, the Oxford Cultural Collective worked with a range of partners, to provoke new thinking and help embed progressive practice in food, drink and hospitality.
In September, OCC contributed to the Stranraer Oyster Festival, which welcomed over 20,000 visitors across three days, boosting the local economy and regenerating natural oyster beds in Loch Ryan.
In 2023 The Future Plate became one of the Oxford Cultural Collective’s key partners. Its founder, Julian George, was appointed a Trustee of the OCC Trust, and in 2024 the Trust will launch the Future Plate Scholarship, providing overseas learning experiences for young Black chefs who are seeking to explore their cultural heritage, through food.
Donald Sloan and chef, author and campaigner Asma Khan, addressed the senior management team of Elior UK, in November 2023, to help reinforce the company’s commitment to diversity and inclusion.
On November 22nd, OCC and Westmill Foods launched a series of events to support hospitality businesses specialising in East and Southeast Asian cuisine. More information here.
